Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Recipe Book ("the Service," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service. We may update these terms from time to time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Recipe Book. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these terms on your behalf.

3. Account Registration

You must create an account to access most features. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at [your-contact@email.com] if you believe your account has been compromised.

4. Subscription and Billing

Recipe Book offers a Free tier and a Pro subscription plan billed monthly at $5/month. Billing is processed by Stripe. By subscribing to Pro, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis until you cancel.

Cancellation: You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time from the Settings page. Your Pro access continues through the end of the current billing period; you will not receive a prorated refund for the remaining period.

Price changes: We will give you at least 30 days' notice before changing subscription prices.

5. User Content

You retain full ownership of the recipe content you create or import into Recipe Book. By uploading content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display, and transmit that content solely as needed to provide the Service to you. We do not claim ownership of your recipes and do not share them with third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy.

Recipes you mark as public are visible to anyone who visits your chef profile page. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share any content you make public.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to scrape, republish, or redistribute copyrighted recipe content without authorization from the rights holder.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, hack, or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
• Use automated tools to create accounts or circumvent usage limits.
• Upload content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes the intellectual property rights of others.

7. AI Processing

Certain import modes (URL, text, and photo import) send your recipe content to OpenAI for extraction and structuring. By using these import modes, you consent to this processing. OpenAI does not use API-submitted data to train its models by default. See our Privacy Policy for more details.

8. DMCA / Copyright

If you believe content on Recipe Book infringes your copyright, please send a DMCA takedown notice to [dmca@yourdomain.com] including: (a) identification of the copyrighted work; (b) identification of the infringing material and its location on our Service; (c) your contact information; (d) a statement of good faith belief; (e) a statement of accuracy and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RECIPE BOOK AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account for violation of these terms, fraudulent activity, or other conduct that we reasonably determine to be harmful. You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. Upon deletion, your data is permanently removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

12. Governing Law
